Emotions are produced by cultural ideals of selfhood and commodification processes. One of the techniques is through branding. Branding is defined as the deliberate association of products and trademarked names with ideas, concepts, feeling and relationships. Brands self-consciously use cultural icons and myths to forge their identity and tap into emotional meanings activated by collective symbols. The current market for self-help books, workshops, retreats is booming. We are in a challenging situation as the Self-Help industry is labelling itself as a promise to empower self-healing practices for a ‘happier life”. Herein it is underlying that the more effort you place in becoming a better person, the more successful life you will have. Does this provide us with the freedom to choose or can it make us even more miserable?

Visual Wash is based upon the knowledge of Tibetan Buddhism. Namely, meditation techniques of Dzögchen. A selection of content available on YouTube I transform attention draining content, to content that enhances our awareness to inner-silence.
